Notice to MVA Patients
Please be advised that our clinic does not participate in the Diagnostic and Treatment Protocols released by the Government of NL on December 2. 2024.
We have opted not to participate in these protocols in order to protect the rights of our patients to receive comprehensive and quality care that is directed by us, your health care provider, instead of your insurance company or the government.
Our concerns include the following:
They:
are based on outdated research and have not been developed in collaboration with health care providers.
do not represent best practices in the treatment of patients recovering from injuries sustained in motor vehicle collisions.
discourage collaboration with other health care professionals and limit our ability to be able to refer you for care by other health professionals that may be integral to your recovery.
do not provide an adequate number of visits to manage most conditions we frequently see and as a result they will likely result in interruptions to your care at critical times which may result in prolonged recovery times.
impose unrealistic documentation/reporting requirements on our health care providers which will reduce the time they have available to provide necessary patient care.
Please be assured that we remain committed to providing our patients with the best possible care which is why we have “opted out” of these protocols.
We can continue to provide you with appropriate care under your Section B insurance benefits. Please contact your insurance provider for more information on Section B.
